What I Want to Learn at University
The other day, I finally decided my timetable for classes and the circles to join, and now my university life is about to begin in earnest. At this time, I would like to introduce some of the things I want to study at university.
Chemistry and biology are major subjects in the department to which I belong. Of these, I am particularly interested in organic chemistry. Organic chemistry is a field that mainly studies the manufacturing methods, structures, and uses of organic compounds. Organic compounds are familiar to us as they exist in various situations in our daily lives such as in food, cosmetics, medicines, and many other situations. As I am just beginning my studies, I don’t know all the details yet, so I would like to study this area for myself.
In addition to organic chemistry, I want to learn languages: Japanese, Chinese, and English. In particular, I have been studying English by focusing on reading and writing. However, from now on, I will work to improve my speaking skills to pass the EIKEN Grade pre-1 Test and achieve my score goal of TOEIC this year.
Lastly, I want to learn about information technology. I want to earn the IT passport this year to check and recognize my IT knowledge. The IT passport is a national qualification that certifies possession of basic knowledge about information technology.
In short, at university, I will mainly study chemistry, languages, and information technology, and through these studies find something that will be the axis of my life.
大学で学びたいこと
先日、ようやく授業の時間割や入会するサークルも決まり、これから本格的に大学生活が始まるところです。今回は私が大学で学びたいと思っていることのいくつかを、紹介しようと思います。
化学生命科学科では、主に化学と生物学を体系的に学んでいきます。その中でも、私が特に興味を持っているのは有機化学です。
有機化学とは、主に有機化合物の製法や構造、用途を研究する分野です。有機化合物は日常の様々な場面に存在する、私たちにとって身近なものです。例えば、食品、化粧品、医薬品などが挙げられます。初学者の私には、まだ詳しいことは分からないので、これから自分で勉強したいと思っています。
次に、語学の技能を高めたいです。英語は、今まで読み書きに注力して勉強してきました。ですが、これからは今年中の英検準１級合格及びTOEICの目標達成に向けてSpeakingのスキルも高めます。
そして、私は情報技術について学びたいと思います。知識を確実に身に付けるための目標として私は、今年中のITパスポートの取得を設定しました。ITパスポートとは、情報技術に関する基礎的な知識の保有を証明する国家資格です。
大学では、主に上記の化学、語学、情報技術を学び、自分の人生の軸になるものを見つけたいです。
