Do you like Disney? I like it. In particular, I like Disney’s stories about princesses. This is because the stories are often about a poor girl attracting a prince using magical powers. This kind of story gives us hope. When I was younger and less mature, I liked princesses like Cinderella, but now that I am more grown up and mature, I like the villains too. However, I wondered, “They are villains, but why do I like villains too?” I was able to realize that villains are important parts of stories, and they are fascinating. Disney’s stories have many fascinating villains.
Do you know a game that is called “Twisted Wonderland”, where villains are the motif – the center of the story?
I get carried away when I play this game. Why is it fascinating? I think that the stories’ contents are very interesting and the characters who are villains in the game are my favorite. The stories are based on the characteristics of the characters in the game. The villains also have their own circumstances that made them villains, and they each have their own problems that they have to try to solve. The interesting developments of the stories is of course one of the reasons why these games are recommended, but another appeal is that you can be the main character in your own story. The characters have strong personalities, but they all have fascinating backgrounds and features. My favorite characters are "Leona Kingscholar," modeled after Scar from "The Lion King," and "Malleus Draconia," modeled after Maleficent from "Sleeping Beauty”. For all of you who find villains fascinating, I recommend giving these games a try.

皆さんは、ディズニーは好きですか？私は好きです。私はディズニーの中でも特に、プリンセスたちのお話が好きです。なぜなら、貧しく苦しい生活を送っていた一人の女の子が、魔法使いなどの力によって王子様と出会うというお話の内容が、とても夢があるからです。それらは私たちに希望を与えてくれます。幼い頃は、シンデレラなどのお姫様が好きでしたが、大きくなってからは悪役のことも好きになりました。しかし私は、彼らは悪役だ、なのになぜ悪役のことも好きなのだろう？と不思議に思っていました。そして私は、一つの考えにたどり着きました。それは、悪役は物語を彩る重要な役割で、とても魅力あふれる役であったからだというものでした。ディズニーの物語にも、魅力的な悪役が数多く存在します。そんな悪役たちがモデルの「ツイステッドワンダーランド」というゲームを、皆さんはご存知でしょうか。このゲームを私は最近夢中になってやっています。このゲームの何が魅力的なのか。私が考える中での一番の魅力は、物語の内容と悪役がモデルとなっているキャラクターたちです。話の内容は、それぞれモデルとなっているキャラクターの特徴を生かした話であり、悪役にも悪役になってしまった事情があり、それぞれ悩みを持っていて、その悩みを解決していくというような話です。物語の展開の面白さも勿論おすすめできる理由の一つですが、自分が主人公となって話を進められるというのも、魅力の一つです。
キャラクターも個性は強いですが、どれも魅力的な設定のキャラクターばかりです。私のお気に入りのキャラクターは『ライオン・キング』のスカーをモデルにした「レオナ・キングスカラー」と『眠れる森の美女』のマレフィセントをモデルにした「マレウス・ドラコニア」です。悪役に魅力を感じる皆さん、これを機にぜひ、やってみてください。
