My life is full these days. I have a lot of work to do every day so I’m busy, but I feel good. In addition to having to do schoolwork, volunteer work, and a part-time job, I have the role of being a JWU PR Ambassador, which adds color to my life. A JWU PR ambassador—or Japan Women’s University Public Relations Ambassador—is part of a publicist team consisting of JWU university students whose goal is to promote the university. I belong to a team that focuses on the JWU campus and its lifestyle.

I became a member in April, 2022. It had been less than a month since I’d entered university and I hardly knew anything about it. However, I couldn’t sit still after being told that I had got the JWU PR Ambassador position, so I wanted challenge myself. After the first half a year, I attended monthly meetings, made social media posts, and edited images of the various activities that I participated in. Doing all of this has changed me a lot. I realized that it was fun to think about who I'm sending messages to and to design images, and nowadays I’m learning design through self-study. It’s also good to be involved with other students because, since I’m not a member of an official university club, it can otherwise be more difficult to make friends.

The biggest change is the growing attachment I have to Japan Women's University. Up until JWU, I had been in co-ed schools all my life, so when I first entered the university, I was slightly worried about studying at a women's university. However, that anxiety has completely gone. Through my public relations activities, I have come to like this university more because I have learned about the history of my university and have listened to the thoughts of both students and teachers. I never dreamed that the JWU PR Ambassador role, which I started about six months ago as of writing this, would move me so much. Through my continued efforts in this role, I am sure that my attachment to this university will keep growing.

　最近の私は生き生きしている。毎日やることが山のようにあって忙しいけれど、なんだかそれも心地よい。学業やボランティア活動、アルバイトなどに加え、私の生活に彩りを添えてくれるもの、それは「JWUPRアンバサダー」の活動だ。
　「JWUPRアンバサダー」とは日本女子大学の学生が主体となって大学の魅力を発信する広報団体である。私はライフスタイルやキャンパスについて発信するチームに所属している。
　メンバーになったのは2022年の4月。入学して1ヶ月も経っていないし、大学については何も知らなかった。しかし、募集のお知らせが届いたとき、居ても立っても居られず挑戦してみたくなったのだ。それから約半年。月に1度の会議に加え、SNSのリール動画の作成や画像編集など、さまざまな活動をしてきた。それにより、私自身が大きく変化している。発信する相手のことを考えたり、画像をデザインしたりすることの楽しさを実感するようになったのだ。近頃ではデザインの面白さに目覚め、独学で勉強しているほどである。また、他の学科の同級生や先輩方とかかわりを持てるのもよい。私は大学の公認サークルには所属していないため、交友関係を広げるのは難しかったのだ。
　そして最大の変化は、日本女子大学への愛着がさらに湧いたことである。今までずっと共学だったこともあり、入学当初は女子大に対する漠然とした不安があった。しかし、今ではすっかりその不安はなくなっている。広報活動を通して、本学の歴史や学生・先生方の想いに触れることで大学をより好きになった。およそ半年前に始めたこの活動がこんなにも私を動かしてくれるとは夢にも思わなかった。今後もこの活動を通して、私はもっと大学を好きになるだろう。
